You may want to make a big deal out of his sword thing; the swords he sells are not his personal collection, so he only sells lesser swords.

If you know how to do patent and real estate searches, you can find out a lot more about him and how he makes his money; his company name is Snowball. You should see his sword sales site offer shipping from England sometime soon I understand. I do not know what he has going there. Surprised he does not just pay a few of his many beans to have you and your mates experience fatal road accidents.

In checking the URL mentioned in Brendan’s comment, it does say there: “Please note: This sword is at my address in New Zealand.”

TEN MILLION IDR REWARD!

A reward of IDR 10 million has been posted for information leading to the seizure, arrest or detainment on Bali, or any other part of Indonesia, of this person known as Mark Andrew Austin.

Born in Southwick, England June 8, 1959, Austin is now 52 years of age. He is married to a Balinese woman named Suci who is from northern Bali, near Singaraja. I know the name of her village but do not wish to disparage it here by associating it with this nefarious criminal. He may be traveling with his wife Suci and their two pre, or early teen children, a boy named Andrew and a girl named Franscheska.

He may be traveling using the British passport illustrated above, or an Israeli passport under a different name. Please note that the British passport illustrated above has been posted by Austin himself at various times and in his various blogs.

Israeli passports are not acceptable for entry into Indonesia without a visa issued by the Indonesian government, so it is very unlikely that he would attempt to use his Israeli passport to gain entry into Indonesia.

Anyone spotting this individual, who will immediately respond to salutations like “hey Mark” or “hey Austin” is urged to immediately contact local police authorities in Bali, (polda) or to immediately send an e-mail to majapht1@dps.centrin.net.id

It is highly suspected that Mark Andrew Austin will try to enter Bali in the near future. Catching this criminal on Bali or anywhere else in Indonesia is essential for a successful prosecution and a final end to this criminal’s activity.

vBid. me, Austin’s Latest Internet Scam

Thrown off of eBay for auction fraud, it didn’t take Austin long to set up his own internet auction site where he continues to offer fakes and otherwise conduct fraudulent business. This new internet auction site is called vBid me: www.vbid.me

At the same time, Austin launched a new forum called vBay.me: www.vbay.me

The gist behind this new forum by Austin is to attack eBay and others currently on eBay who wouldn’t play his games or let him get away with his fraudulent activity on eBay. He writes there,

“My name is Mark Austin and I own vBay.me. I started these forums because of my total dislike for many aspects of eBay. I actually was about to sue them in England but decided to do something more community spirited and positive. I decided to launch this forum and a sister auction site vBid.me”

“Community spirited and positive?” There isn’t a bone in Austin’s body which gives a damn about anyone other than himself, and there are no limits to what this sociopath will do to get what he wants.

Under both of his new sites he continues to use his old primary eBay ID, which was snr_sword.

On his new internet auction site, Austin declares vBid me to be “the champion of eBay alternatives” yet he is the ONLY seller! Moreover, his feedback by other “buyers” is totally contrived and made up by Austin himself. This trick of impersonation is a common one employed by Austin in the past. Austin regularly made up other personalities to engage in “discussions” with himself on his various past forums and he used various false ID’s on other internet auction sites. This is a common modus operandi for Austin, even though he has been caught red handed engaging in this activity on many occasions.

When eBay completed their fraud investigation of Mark Andrew Austin under the eBay ID snr_sword, there were four other bogus eBay ID’s which eBay directly traced to Austin, namely, chernobylpowerstation, jackdanielsforpresident, stevebeverlypt and travlurs. .All of these eBay ID’s have been permanently expunged by eBay for fraud. All of these eBay ID’s used fake names, addresses and telephone numbers to initiate the eBay registration. Anyone with their own eBay ID can check the status of each of these eBay ID’s used by Austin and the same message will appear: “No longer a registered user.”

So, what is Mark to do? Simple, start an internet auction site himself and engage in fraud all over again.

The internet auction site vBid me is a scam and a total fraud being operated by the wanted criminal, Mark Andrew Austin. Avoid this new internet auction site and you won’t be feeding this monster, the Englishman known as Mark Andrew Austin.

A New Blog From Austin

Austin is off to celebrating the new year with a bang. Too bad it’s not behind bars where he belongs. One thing is for certain, something set him off without provocation, and it must be the truthful aspect of this blog and some heat he must be feeling as a result of that truth being exposed.

Knowing full well that Austin is a pedophile and on Interpol’s watch list, I guess it only makes sense for him to proclaim his innocence in that regard by naming others that aren’t pedophiles as being such. In other words, by this new blog he hopes to divert attention away from himself.

This is so predictably Austin…that being to accuse others of exactly what are his crimes in a pitiful effort to claim his innocence.

It didn’t take long after this posting for the e-mails to start pouring in. Understandably, given what depths of lying and fabrications that Austin is capable of that this e-mail I received came from a person who knows Mark personally but requested to remain anonymous. Anyone who dares to openly challenge this megalomaniac psychopath risks being the brunt of his lies.

Austin:

The man who lived in North Bali, an area known for child molestation.

The man who features underage girls on the home page of his commercial sites.

The man who marries "bar girls" with whom he cannot communicate, a woman who complains to friends that her husband is sexually inadequate.

The man who posts pictures of his children naked on the Internet.

The man who, by last count, has been compelled to leave Indonesia, Thailand, Russia and Portugal for his criminal activities.

The man who was ousted from ebay for unscrupulous business practice.

Without doubt Austin will soon fill in his latest blog with his own made up comments coming from his own entourage of made up names and personalities. That’s what Austin does. He fabricates reality and truth from the dark recesses of his evil mind banking on the stupidity of those who read it to believe it. Just try to validate ANY comments on ANY of his blogs!

On this blog, e-mails received and comments made are from real people who have unfortunately come into contact with him and thus have their own horror stories to share. Documentation and proof of the authenticity of comments and e-mails posted here are always available.

Austin Must Be Broke!

Having recently lost at least US $5,000.00 a month in revenue due to his nefarious activity under eBay as eBay member snr_sword, and a variety of other made up eBay ID’s, Austin has just listed his worthless travel forum, The Travel Forum Organization for sale.

As typical of Austin’s forums or blogs, his announcement is immediately followed by a response from a bogus member of that forum, Alison, with a plea for him to stay. One will note that on virtually all of Austin’s blogs, comments by those we are supposed to believe as honest and existing other parties always respond…and those responses are always by Austin’s own made up personalities.

It was these made up personalities that was his down fall on eBay which resulted in his permanent suspension from eBay and a loss of at least US $5,000.00 a month in revenue considering his previous status as an eBay Power Seller. Ouch! And, I hope it hurts!

With his house in Portugal for sale, and now trying to dump his worthless forum on some hapless idiot, Austin seems to be having financial difficulty. I wonder what he is living in at his new address in Spain? A one bedroom apartment, or a trailer park? Hell, he doesn’t even have a way to sell his fake swords anymore since he burned all his bridges with sword collectors too!

Kharma is indeed finally coming to Austin. He may not be in jail yet, but it is comforting to know that he is desperate for cash as the internet world finally catches up with him, and he is slowly found out to be exactly who he is…The Mad Hatter of Bali, a criminal, and a nutter beyond that which words can describe.

Just for the fun of it, or rather, just for the revelation, I thought it might be an interesting exercise to compare Austin’s list of persona nefarious as listed on his various blogs, web sites and forums to my own.

For me, it’s pretty simple…I only list him, Mark Andrew Austin.

But for him, the list is long and this compilation is only scratching the surface. Sorry, but it is also not alphabetical:

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (President of Indonesia)

I Made Mangku Pastika (Governor of Bali)

Mark A. Wilson (British Consul to Bali)

Budi Setywan (Past Bali Police Chief)

Tri Koncoro (Police officer in Bali)

Jakarta Post (chief editor not specifically named)

Jack (John) Daniels (an honor winning travel consultant)

Bert Vierstra (a Dutch expat living in Lovina)

Each and everyone of these names listed above can be found on one or more of Austin’s various web sites, blogs and forums that have been listed here before. Each of these persons has been the subject of Austin’s lies, innuendo, and endless crusade of madness.

For some reason, known only to Austin, (or his shrink if he has one), all of these people are out to get him, and he has a personal tale to share for each and everyone of those names and how indeed, they were out to get him. Just checking Webster’s dictionary, I found his photo next to the word, paranoia. Could there be a more perfect illustration of paranoia? Although, perhaps now, and given Austin’s baseless ranting about these folks, they may well be out to get him, and who in their right mind wouldn’t?

As for me, Austin decided to attack me on eBay. Using three bogus eBay ID’s he tried to interfere and disrupt our business activity. Those now banned forever eBay ID’s are: steveberlypt, chernobylpowerstation, and jackdanielsforpresident. That last one was pretty funny, so I’ll grant that but there was nothing funny about his criminal activity on eBay which resulted in his permanent suspension.

This was a pathetic attempt on Austin’s part to disrupt our business, and in the end, his own personal eBay ID remains, and always will remain, NO LONGER A REGISTERED USER, which we call NARU’D assholes. That ebay ID for Austin was snr_sword.
Anyone can check each and everyone of those eBay ID’s for themselves to see that they are gone, and gone forever. Clearly, the loss of his monthly eBay income got him all twisted up in a knot, but he eventually shot himself in the foot, as he always does.

He also wrote some interesting letters to a whole host of folks that we are associated with in one way or another. The grammar used in the Indonesian language of those letters was itself a joke, and somewhere around the third grade level here in our village school. Austin could do better than to have his wife do his translations!

Then again, he should know by now that whatever language he prefers to write in, if it’s addressed to anyone in Indonesia, it is surely falling on blind eyes and deaf ears! Austin has taken the “boy who cried wolf” to atmospheric levels that even the North Koreans would be proud of!

In the end though it all boils down, and what it all boils down to is this:

A) Mark Andrew Austin is a wanted criminal in Bali, Indonesia, and in Thailand.
B) Mark Andrew Austin is unable to keep the same address anywhere in the world for more than two years. He is still on the Interpol watch list!
C) Mark Andrew Austin is shunned by anyone who comes into contact with him.
D) Ebay has thrown Mark Andrew Austin off and for good.
E) Mark Andrew Austin defrauded the Bali Children’s Project and the Mercy Center in Thailand for thousands of dollars.
F) Mark Andrew Austin IS the Mad Hatter of Bali and should be avoided at all costs until he is finally put behind bars!

EBAY GIVES AUSTIN THE BOOT!

Austin has just been suspended (effective April 30), from any further trading with eBay.

Austin was caught red handed trying to interfere with my wife’s eBay business which has been in place for over 12 years and with a stellar reputation. Using another surrogate eBay ID, Austin “purchased” two items from my wife which totaled over US $4,000.00 in value. It was rather easy to trace the origin of the e-mail address used in his surrogate (bogus) eBay ID to his recently re-activated and scam Travelethos web site, and then further to Austin’s own eBay registration.

Austin was out for some retaliation for this blog, which is clearly causing him some serious discomfort as the truth is made more and more clear about him. His intention was to leave my wife with negative feedback on her eBay account claiming that he had paid for these items and that my wife was committing fraud because they were not shipped. Austin’s nefarious efforts were quickly investigated by the eBay trust and safety department, with the result that he is no longer a registered user.

Stupidly, Austin threatened this activity in an e-mail to my wife dated April 20 wherein he wrote, “Let me see, just off the top of my head, some of your many vulnerabilities…your eBay account, your eBay feedback, your bank account.”

This recent event is just one more example of how Austin will use any means, including lies, deception, hyperbole, impersonation, etc., etc. to impose his will upon, and coerce anyone who dares to expose him and his activities.

Mark Andrew Austin Is A Pedophile!

In all truthfulness, I never gave much credence to the stories I would hear about this claim now and then about Austin and his time up north in Bali around Singaraja.

There were those who would claim him as a pedophile because of his overt interest in little girls, and later, simply because his avatar on his forum is a little girl. You can see for yourself here: Travel Forum Org where he posts as markadmin. Virtually every post Austin makes there includes a photo of this girl, yet he has two kids by his own admission, Andrew (born August 2002) and Francheska (born October 2005). Why not use an avatar of one of them?

When Austin first launched this forum in 2007 he wrote me a taunting e-mail (as all his e-mails are) which I had almost forgotten. In that e-mail, he wrote:

“What do you think of the girl? She is from Timor and I think she’s cute. Too bad your seed only makes monkeys!” In fact, on his forum Austin wrote about this girl… “she was just too cute to resist.”

While several “contributors” of information about Austin have suggested I direct my attention that way, I hadn’t until just receiving a hand written letter from a family from the same village as his wife, Ni Luh Suci. In that letter, Ibu (the mother of the child) writes that Austin, on several occasions, had paid her 50 thousand rupiah (about five dollars) for her 11 year old daughter to spend a few hours at night with him.

After reading other details of the mother’s letter, I knew it was authentic. Unfortunately, but yet true, pedophiles in Bali often work with “parental consent” but that does not eliminate the crime! Poverty, and the realities one faces when very poor is always behind this. For the Balinese parents who will allow their child to be so abused for money, there is kharma, but for the westerner who takes advantage with his money, there is justice.

While I am no psychiatrist, it is notable that while Austin does sell drugs on the internet, he claims I am a drug dealer, which obviously I am not, and while he pedophiled a young girl here in Bali, he accuses another western expatriate, Bert, of being a pedophile, which he is not. I am told that this projection of accusations to others by a psychotic is fairly common. Given that 99.9% of what Austin writes is lie, lie and more lies without substantiation, I personally accept that the claim that Austin IS a pedophile is accurate.

MORE HOTEL BOOKING FRAUD FROM AUSTIN!

After his original Travelethos web site was disclosed as defrauding a well respected Balinese and Thai based children’s charity, Austin has re-opened his internet hotel booking site. His greed is immeasurable and even though he is a wanted man in Bali, he shamelessly seeks profit from the very island he despises and urges tourists to boycott on his other web sites.

Austin’s audacity in seeking profit for himself from the very island and people he despises is without measure. This man is without morals.

As with his last Travelethos hotel booking site, he once again fraudulently cloaks this site as being for the benefit of the Balinese. As with his previous site, if booking a hotel through the site, the booking goes through a third party booking agent, and he gets some, if not most of those commission.

The URL for this newly activated site is the same as the previous one he quickly closed down after being disclosed as fraudulent: http://www.travelethos.com/

In this new site it states:

“All / any profits made by us go to a good cause: for details please see our About Us (Travel Ethos) page.”

In another part of this site, he states how his profit will be used:

“1) To pay for the upkeep of this site and its associated Travel Forum.”
”2) To fight the endemic corruption and human rights abuse in Bali.”

What he means, is that he will be using those funds derived from bookings in those hotels to continue his web assault on Bali and its people!

PLEASE BOYCOTT TRAVELETHOS AND SPREAD THE WORD!

DO NOT BOOK YOUR HOTEL from Travelethos! Book those hotels from another site…any site or book direct. If you book from Travelethos you are only helping to fund a criminal who has clearly stated his hatred of Indonesia, Bali, and his intentions to commit murder against Indonesian officials!

How can YOU help?

It is completely understandable why so few people dare to cross swords with Austin. No one likes seeing their name smeared with lies and innuendo all over the internet. No man wants to read insults about his wife all over the internet. Austin ruthlessly uses intimidation and lies as a weapon and a deterrent to anyone to speak against him. As a result he is able to ward most of those who are willing to blow the whistle on him.

You can help by going to his newly activated Travelethos web site and contacting some of the hotels listed there. We are doing the same. The more these hotels are aware of the REAL Mark Andrew Austin and his criminal and fraudulent activities, the less “presence” Austin will have in Bali.

If you are active on any of the many Bali related internet forums, then post there with a link to this blog so more people are made aware of what is truly evil on Bali.

AUSTIN ADMITS TO CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY!

As we mentioned in our blog yesterday, Austin has been busy at work revising his blog: http://mark-andrew-austin.blogspot.com/

Conspicuously absent from that revision is a critical chapter that was originally included in his blog as published in late December 2008 and left standing until yesterday. That entry was titled, “Death threats, plans to murder!”

That omission was not accidental on Mark’s part, rather, it was purposeful as it is undoubtedly the real cause of the heat he is currently feeling. We purposefully avoided addressing this here on our blog when Austin first published this back in late December of 2008 in order to give law enforcement and governmental agencies enough time to complete their investigations.

Austin has no idea how many top level law enforcement and governmental officials were made aware of this criminal activity he freely admits to, and even brags about. In case you missed reading this for yourself on Austin blog during the almost four months that it sat on the internet, you can read it in its entirety, un-edited and un-revised by us in any way right here:

Death threats, plans to murder!

It seems strange after all the death threats (from one or two people in Bali) I have received in the past, here I am answering allegations I have threatened to kill certain people in Bali!

Yes I did let people know how much it cost to have someone murdered in Indonesia (Bali included), but I did not threaten them with murder; in fact I pointed out I was against such acts, not least having been a near victim myself. I told certain people to underline their nasty acts were dangerous and yes, to put them off defaming / threatening / acting against myself and others in the future.

However, although I have never threatened anyone with murder, I did once come very close to paying for three people (Balinese police officer Tri Kuncoro, travel agent John Daniels of Bali Discovery Tours, and real estate / Bali villas salesman Bert Vierstra in Lovina) to be "stopped". I do not state this with pride or machismo, but simply because it would have been my legal right to do so, to defend myself and my family in the absence of law, order and police protection in Bali. I only admit it here to protect my family in the future and also that hopefully people will be aware of the very cheap cost of a life in Bali; it costs just $22,000 USD or thereabouts to have a foreigner or low ranking police office killed in Bali I have been reliably informed.

After an attempt on my own life in Thailand, after continued multiple unlawful acts against me by the Balinese police, after my name was falsely placed as a suspected terrorist on the regional Interpol watch list (for, I understand, a $3000 bribe to Made Pastika), after visits by the Javanese Laskar (mafia) to my friends and family in Bali, after unlawfully conducted police "investigations" against my friend in Bali regarding me, after death threats and other abuse against me, after Bert Vierstra showed a clear intent to come and "visit" me / my family in Portugal, after writing to the police in Bali both to get them to stop acting unlawfully against me and provide protection for my friends and family there without success or even reply, after even the pub owning British Consul in Bali defamed me, after threats by the Balinese police to classify me as a terrorist (because they claimed what I wrote terrorised people), following my passport scan (provided to Jack Daniels and others unlawfully by the Balinese police) was published and circulated on the Internet along with my credit card details, after my credit card was defrauded as a result, after the British Foreign Office refused to intervene, after all the efforts of my lawyers failed, I had done all I could and had enough.

Fearing further acts against me and my family, on August 15th 2007 I wrote to the then police chief of Bali, Inspector General Paulus Purwok, copying my letter to Charlene Hull of the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London and advised them I considered, as a legal right of self defence in the absence of protection in law, that any escalation of the unlawful acts and threats against me / my family by the police and named other parties would entitle me to have those persons physically and violently stopped (perhaps murdered). As a pacifist against the death penalty, my action did not come easily.

At the same time I made enquiries about the cost to "stop" 5 people in Bali; Inspector General Paulus Purwok himself, I Nyoman Gde Suweta (the chief of Bali's detectives and the man who was trying to get the Balinese legislature to classify me as a terrorist), officer Tri Kuncoro, Jack Daniels and Bert Vierstra. I made enquiries with two alleged gangsters, one reported to me as being a Balinese policeman who provided such services as a side business; I contacted him to let the police know I was earnest. The other contact informed me he (knew someone who) would carry out my contracts on the last three, but not the two senior police officers. A price was given to me and I had the amount readied. If the unlawful police and Laskar acts against my friends and family did not stop, I was ready to pay to stop Tri Kuncoro and Jack Daniels. If I had not received assurances Bert Vierstra would not be able to travel to the Iberian Peninsula to harm my family, I would have paid to stop him.

I do not know if it was my letter to the Inspector General Paulus Purwok, my copy to the FCO's Charlene Hull and some subsequent diplomatic intervention or whether it was just a coincidence, but the police in Bali seemed to give up, to stop acting against me and mine. I am very happy they did, I did not want to do what I felt I had no choice otherwise to. I hope I never have to contemplate such an act again. Not for fact I would then have to defend myself in a court of law, but to be involved in such a deed. Perhaps I sound insane; Indonesia is, I am afraid, the sort of country to bring such madness out in people.

Finally, you will notice the person who claims I threatened to have him and his family killed, Roy Thompson, is not on my list. Unlike Daniels, Vierstra and Kuncoro, I did and do not consider him a threat in this regard, just a nasty little man who added to my woes, published all sorts of lies against me and deprived childrens charities of money as a result. As I said before, Bali has him to thank for this blog.

1) You need to challenge BCP's ops manager and ******* - all monies went to them in Bali - all accounts went to them - the hotels dealt with and paid them directly; so I do not have exact records of what the hotels paid her, only she and ****** do, it is on their bank statements, not mine, so ask them you butt head

2) If you want to check me out for alleged fraud, get a single hotel / villa in Bali to produce a single statement from Travel Ethos which has anything other than BCP's operational manager's details / bank account info on it.

3) So file your complaints Roy; I would welcome an investigation in the EU or USA

PS I have now filed a complaint with the California Attorney General against ****** and his charitable foundation (please note, that is not BCP itself) as he instructed Travel Ethos Ltd to have the hotels pay the way they did. Actually | have you to thank for some of the evidence I have sent them. I hope they put him in jail!

Truman and Austin, Something in Common?

Indeed, there is something in common between past US President Harry Truman, and Mark Andrew Austin. They both believed that “The Buck Stops Here.” Truman in fact had a sign on his desk with that slogan. For him or course, it meant that there was no passing of the buck, meaning, no passing of responsibility. For Austin, he’s thinking about dollars!

It’s been a full two weeks since I last challenged Austin to provide an accounting of what the Thai and Bali charities actually did receive. That he hasn’t done that is no surprise.

If I were Austin, accused of operating a scam hotel booking site, and defrauding poor children charities, I’d be very busy proving my innocence.

Austin, your silence is deafening, but it’s also no surprise.

Once Again Austin! WHERE DID THE MONEY GO?

In an e-mail from Austin to me dated August 10, 2007, Austin wrote,

“The Travel Ethos site is 100% genuine Roy, I am not into fraud. You are welcome to have any legal villa or hotel owners you know join and they / you will see any statements will have the Bali charity’s bank details for payment on them. It is a pleasure to help children's charities that educate youngsters to stay away from drugs and sexual predators Roy.”

I say to Austin now, “well then, if you are not into fraud, as you “said”, then it’s time to present your accounting of what the Thai and Bali based charities DID receive.”

As Austin suggested to me back in August of 2007, I did indeed start to check for myself.

On Austin’s blog, he states that I am…

That is entirely true! I am the reason why he closed Travelethos, and that is because I uncovered his charity cloaked scam!

Austin will not divulge on his blog the monies that were actually paid to either of the charities, because he already knows I have that exact accounting. He knows what the amounts are, just as he knows (and has himself stated), the amounts that were NOT paid to the charities.

While Austin acknowledges that approximately US $20,000.00 was not paid to the charities, he leads the reader of his blog to believe that those monies were simply not paid to any entity, himself included.

Now however, he is audaciously accusing one of the directors of those charities of stealing these funds!

In an e-mail dated yesterday, the 13th of January to one of the charity directors, Austin, (using what is almost certainly another of his pen names, this time Andrew Stevens) accuses this director, and the charity itself, of stealing these funds! Once again he threatens legal action against this director and demands…

“Unless you openly report the matter to me, [and Mark Austin] plus, let me stress this, put up full accreditation for my [and Mark Austin’s] efforts with an apology on your web site within 7 days, I will go ahead and file a complaint against you.”

He goes on and further states to this director…

“If it were not for you and the way you conduct business, another charity could have been found and Travel Ethos would have supported them instead. But your nasty way forced the closure of the site and with that, be aware you have defrauded other worthy causes; you are truly a low life.”

Austin is forgetting that neither the Bali, or the Thailand based charity requested to be removed from Travelethos for the reason of suspected fraud on the part of Travelethos. I have copies of the notices from both charities to Austin demanding that they be removed as a benefiting charity from the Travelethos web site, and neither notice served to him by these charities even HINTS at charity fraud!

Indeed, if there was no fraud, then why not just go out and find two replacement charities for the two that resigned from Travelethos?

Unable to comment further at this time regarding this investigation, the money always leaves a trail, and you can guess where that money ended!

Anyone who knows Austin will not be surprised that his latest scam has been opened up and revealed. It was just a matter of time before some due diligence, time, effort and patience would pay off and result in a public disclosure of what this deranged and deceitful man is all about.

Everywhere Austin travels, either on this earth, or in cyberspace, his greed, avarice, and madness leaves innocent and trusting good folks behind as victims. He is, and in his own words, a “nasty Mark.”

So, Austin, I am challenging you again!

If you are not into fraud, as you wrote, then it’s time to present your accounting of what the Thai and Bali based charities DID receive, according to your records. If you can account, as you already have on your blog, for those funds NOT received, then you clearly can also account for those funds which HAVE BEEN received!

We have only published those owing above $200; regretably there are twice the above number of hotels who owe the charities between $100 and $200, and no doubt more under $100.

For Bali, his figures total to $5,232.77, and for Thailand, his figures total to $8,093.65. Then he further states,

OK, so there are 18 hotels on his list, so conservatively let’s add in an additional $150.00 (the median dollar amount) times 36, (twice the 18 listed), or another US $5,400.00.

THAT COMES TO A GRAND TOTAL OF AT LEAST US $18,726.42!!!

MARK, if those commissions and booking fees were NOT paid to the charities, just who WAS paid those sums????

Anyone with even a slight track record of dealing with Austin knows damn well the almost certain answer to that question!

While I do know the amounts received by one of the listed charities, I am not going to divulge that information, as it is private, but I can say it was a small fraction of what Austin declares as “unpaid” commissions and booking fees!

Anyone who bothered to take a close look at Austin’s Travelethos web site could easily see that there were a substantial number of ratings given by people who had stayed at one of the participating hotels AND had booked their stay through Travelethos. For Bali alone, that site had listed 186 participating hotels, AND another 94 participating villas! During the past year, 97 of those participating hotels and villas had received at least one rating from someone who used Austin’s site for their Bali stay. In reality, this number is significantly higher than 97, as most participating hotels that showed user ratings showed multiple user ratings.

On his blog, Austin lists 37 Bali hotels or villas that he calls “good hotels/villas.” The presumption is that those hotels/villas did pay their booking fees/commissions to the Bali based charity. That presumption is valid since the hotels he lists as “bad” did not pay the charity the booking fees/commissions that were owed.

Well, if 10 hotels were “bad” (did not pay to the charity) and that amounts to US $5,232.77, what is the amount that the 37 “good” hotels DID pay to the charity?

Obviously, if Austin can determine the exact amount (down to pennies) of what wasn’t paid, then surely Austin can also supply the figures that WERE paid!

Austin is of course going to continue to hide behind the excuse that it was the participating hotels that failed to properly direct their booking fees and commissions, but you and I know that it is “elementary my dear Watson” what was most certainly going on!

Austin, the only name that belongs on the “hall of shame” is your own!

“Apart from putting Daniels, Kuncoro and Pastika in jail, I have what I
want Roy. Despite what you think, I can come to Bali whenever I choose and have recently. And the police already have been told by me that if they inflict themselves upon me or mine again, I have already transfered the money to Bali to have them taken care of if justice fails me; yes Roy, I told them (including the fat faced police chief, whatever his name is) that in writing, and it is my legal right to do that.”

30 July 2007, To me from Austin:

“It would cost me around $20000 to end your sorry life, but a) I don't do that stuff (unless in self-defence) and b) I think your true value is around $20, solely as potential for the local glue factory. The dog food factory would pay for $40 for your weight but they have standards after all.”

And today, there was another e-mail from Austin which I have decided to not publish, but rather to forward directly to the police, as it more than infers a threat, “if I wanted to get to you” and then proceeds to name each of our three sons and my wife by name.

Austin’s wife is Balinese. He has publicly stated this himself numerous times, most recently on his new blog. He discusses his kids there as well. That is his choice. For me, a man’s wife and children are OFF LIMITS! For Austin, nothing is off limits. His willingness to descend into the bowels of hell to get his way is immeasurable. He is a truly wicked and evil man.

The Will To Blog Against Austin

The power of a truthful blog, one which presents the facts and leaves the reader to judge, is a useful tool in spreading the truth. This blog is having an effect on Austin because he doesn’t like the truth about him being told and available on the internet.

Austin will do anything to hide himself from the truth. Last year at about this time, his threats against another blogger with the courage to speak out against Austin were so intense and so vile that the blogger pulled the plug. Here again is the e-mail from Austin to that blogger living in Jakarta. It is well worth publishing this e-mail again as it so perfectly captures the wickedness of this horrible man, Mark Andrew Austin. Once again, and in Austin’s own words:

Dec. 6 2007:

I know you to be a gutless nasty coward but was hoping you
could prove me wrong. The previous email was to open up
dialogue so you could do this. Being an open person,
unlike you, I feel the need not just to defend myself
against uneducated facially impaired greasy little oiks
like you, but to fully name and shame them. Of course I
realize doing that in your case would not just put your
job on the line, but also your liberty and quite probably
your life. So, if you are such a twitching little coward
that you can not stop your little pinkies from quaking and
thus typing a reply, I feel I should at least give you
more than I got; 1 weeks notice to get the f out of
Indonesia before I name and shame you; please, do not
thank me, I am a human being unlike some. After that I
will go to town in order to defend the lies you published
about me (I put my name to web items / sites / blogs I

make the various defamed parties aware not just what you
published about them in Indonesian jurisdiction but who
you actually are; I think that it only right as libel is a
criminal offence in Indonesia and I can hardly condone

A Comment on Austin’s Blog

As one reads Austin’s latest blog, there will likely be comments posted from time to time. They are Austin’s own comments made and cloaked under one of his endless pseudo names.

For those who know Austin, this technique has been used by him for years, most especially on his forums where he himself posts under a variety of names and personalities. This is all part of the Austin game and part of the Austin fraud.

As Austin has already admitted in his own words that he operates under various “legal” names and passports, it should be no surprise to anyone that on his forums and blogs he operates in the same manner.

Nothing about Austin is genuine aside from his evil and twisted mind. It’s taken some folks just a little while to understand this, but if you have Austin’s ear, just ask him who in Bali you could contact that would have anything favorable to say about him!

The Truth WILL Out!

In a recent desperate and plaintive plea to one of the charity directors, one that Austin has been continually threatening with lawsuits and criminal charges, he wrote this:

“Are you aware a substantiated criminal complaint of charity fraud, given the International money laundering laws, will entitle the Balinese police to once again put my name on the Interpol watch list after I had it removed? Do you not realise that this act of yours at worse puts me and my family at physical risk and at worst prevents us from travelling to SE Asia to meet up with my wife's family?”

Not only can we accept that as a confession of sorts, we now also know what Austin fears the most, that being on the Interpol watch list.

“A SUBSTANTIATED CRIMINAL COMPLAINT.” As I’ve written over and over, it is always Mark’s own words that makes the noose from which he hangs. In his own words he suggests that such a claim could be substantiated! Yes, Mark, confession is good for the soul, but it’s healthier when not made by “a slip of the lip.”

Why does Austin fear the Interpol watch list? Because that means he’s “on the radar” regardless of where he lays his head at night. Of no surprise, those places where one can find Austin’s pillow in the last six years has been Thailand, Bali, Portugal, and now NW Spain. On Interpol’s radar, that means his laundry list of alias names and passports (which on his blog he freely admits to having) will no longer provide a cloak for his next nefarious endeavors. In short, “the truth will out” and on a world wide scale.

Austin has run out of options, certainly at least here in Indonesia. His only viable option is to shut down Travelethos now, (no need to wait until January 9), and at the same time, to shut down all his other sites relating to Indonesia, and also Thailand.

With anything less, Austin becomes the English knight from Monty Python’s The Holy Grail, screaming, “it’s only a flesh wound!”

An Encore! MORE AUSTIN LIES!

It is apparent that Austin is scrambling with damage control. Clearly he is panicked and striking out like a trapped wild animal. It’s pathetic. He wants to put everybody and anybody who has ever crossed him in jail! The irony is that in his mind he truly believes that his blog of lies will be believed by some people.

The point Austin is missing, and it’s a key point, is that at no time, or in any venue did anyone, any charity, any hotel, etc, EVER publicly accuse him of fraud against a charity! He’s doing all of that by himself! He keeps drawing attention to a charge that no one has publicly made, except himself!

So why is Austin jumping up and down screaming “I didn’t do it, didn’t do it, I didn’t commit charity fraud” when no one has yet publicly made that charge? Austin “doth protest too much methinks!”

I have copies of the letters sent by the charities to Austin demanding that they be immediately removed from his Travelethos web site. None of these letters mention, suggest or even hint at charity fraud. Unless Austin wants to make up more e-mails falsifying their content, there is nothing in writing from either the charities or the hotels that even hint at charity fraud.

What Austin doesn’t want anyone to know is some of what he’s written to the directors of the charities. Anyone familiar with Austin will not be surprised, because as expected those letters contain threats and more lies.

From an e-mail to one of charities’ directors:

“Seems like you are not just a nasty man when it comes to relationships, but that you also have a big and nasty mouth. I will soon be settling this with you in court unless you put things right immediately. This is your final chance / warning. Mark Austin”

From an e-mail to the directors of two charities:

“You may wish to get your respective lawyers involved. If I am defamed or have false police complaints of charity fraud made against me, I would need to take legal action against you personally and your charities. I will not be libelled or have false police complaints made against me and I absolutely will take immediate civil and criminal action against all of those involved. If you in any way allow or support Mr. Thompson to take the actions he has threatened against me, I will take all available legal action against you as a consequence.”

And, in another letter to one of the charity directors:

“Be warned, it is my intention to file civil and criminal defamation cases against you. Are you aware that in 2004 a friend / accomplice of Roy Thompson tried to have me killed at our home in Thailand after my name was unlawfully put on the regional Interpol watch list, where data of my movements and whereabouts were fed back to the Balinese police who then passed this data on to these people?

Those are the words of a man who would have us believe that he established the Travelethos hotel booking web site, “to help the needy children of Bali and Thailand.”

Lies, Lies, and MORE AUSTIN Lies!

I’ve already provided a laundry list of Austin’s various blogs and web sites on this blog. This past Saturday, the 21st of December, Austin started yet another blog, which, just as in the past with his longer standing blogs and web sites, he spins a yarn of immeasurable lies, distortions, and fantastic tales worthy of a spy novelist.

This new Austin blog comes on the heals of his public announcement to terminate his Travelethos web site effective January 9, 2009. In that public announcement, Austin states:

“I am closing the site down on the 9th January 2009, at which time it will divert to my blog site about this nasty business: http://mark-andrew-austin.blogspot.com/.” In that public announcement he also states,

“I have no wish to conduct business in Indonesia ever again.”

If he is serious and truthful in that statement, then that news is most welcomed!

Here are just a few excepts from his new blog where he defines himself, and in his own words:

“I never intend to go to Indonesia again; I detest that vile nation, may it descend into and rot in hell.”

“To complicate matters, I and my wife may be acquiring new nationalities in 2009 as we both then qualify for Portuguese citizenship; this would again mean me having another name! You see the Portuguese only recognize Portuguese names, so I would have to chose one as neither my British or Hebrew names are on the list!”

My comment to that: Another name Mark!!!??? While Mark would have us believe that all these other names are necessary to protect himself and his family, the truthful fact is, he needs these various names in order to hide his activities and nefarious intentions.

“I am dual national. I did not publish this before as I still travelled to Bali under my Hebrew name (I am actually an atheist) and my other (non-British) passport. I only invoked my right to a different name and dual-nationality to avoid the Balinese police and future murder attempts.”

“And that is what Indonesia is all about, a cockroach of a country in which the parasites of society not just survive but thrive.”

Here are some more specific quotes taken from Austin’s lates blogs:

The Lie:

“In 2002 I was unlawfully detained by the Balinese police and threatened with execution for being a spy! The British Embassy in Jakarta had to intervene to secure my and my passport's release. The police action was ordered by the then police chief himself, Budi Setywan.”

The Truth:

Nothing of this sort EVER happened. This is not simply a distortion of facts, rather, this is an outright fabrication. Austin is unable to produce the least bit of documentation that these events EVER occurred!

The Lie:

“In 2004 armed Thai gangsters tried to kill me at our home in Phuket. I found out afterwards they had been paid for by my nasty business competitor in Bali after he received details from the Balinese police as to my whereabouts in Thailand.”

The Truth:

This is another complete fabrication by Austin. Austin in unable to produce a Thai police report that such an attack ever occurred, or that such attack “had been paid for by my nasty business competitor in Bali after he received details from the Balinese police as to my whereabouts in Thailand.”

The Lie:

“The Balinese police have provided them with scans of my passport and even credit card details (which the police got from a hotel I stayed at) and these have been widely circulated on the Internet to try and intimidate me, to try and make sure I do not come back to Bali, Indonesia or even SE Asia, and to defraud me; thousands of dollars were stolen from my credit card using the information and passport scans provided by the Balinese police.”

The Truth:

This is another fabrication. Once again, Austin is not able to produce evidence of a single web site where his credit card details were EVER disclosed on the internet. Oddly enough, the ONLY web site where a scan of his British passport photograph is currently illustrated is on another of his own blogs!: http://nasty-bali.blogspot.com/2007/07/roy-majapahit-thompson-ubud-drug-dealer.html Of course, Austin will deny that his nasty-bali blog is his own, as that blog is posted under the fictitious (and non existing Balinese) I Made Penemuan.

“The "end of the line" came for me when one of the nasty people of Bali started publishing false statements that this charitable aspect was a con, that I was still taking the hotel commissions and in doing so was defrauding the charity.”

The Truth:

No such claims were EVER made or published. All the charities needed to more than convince themselves, their directors and their legal counsel to divest themselves of Austin’s Travelethos web site was a list of his other web sites and blogs…which are numerous, and where he clearly states his distain, disillusionment, and lies about Indonesia, Bali, and its people.

SUMMARY:

Austin is clearly feeling the walls closing in on him, at least insofar as his activities in Indonesia are concerned. Those walls closing in on him have absolutely nothing to do with the Balinese police, business competitors, or others. Austin has only Austin to blame for his utter and complete demise in Indonesia. He brought this on himself. He will undoubtedly continue to claim himself as the poor hapless victim who only tried to help the poor needy children of Bali and Thailand, but the truth is out, and the facts are undeniable.

Austin needs to Google “Mark Andrew Austin Bali” once in a while. Austin has achieved a level of arrogance that causes him to deny or ignore the intelligence of his fellow man. Austin’s delusions are far beyond the capability of a sane person to begin to comprehend. His belief that he can convince another sane person to believe him is pathetic and to the point that it almost becomes comic.

For us living in Bali, and enjoying our lives here, we can only wonder and have compassion for those others who are yet to fall prey to Austin as he continues to operate all over the internet, in a myriad of activities, and as he says himself, under a cornucopia of various names and identities. Om Santi, Santi, Santi Om.

I have decided to pull out of the reservations "business" and with it this travel forum

Do not worry, I am not going to pull the plug on this forum just like that!

After false allegations of charity fraud against me / my Travel Ethos reservations site (by one of my special "friends" in Bali), it will send out its final guest stay commission statements (which get paid directly to the local Balinese and Thai children's charities I support, not me) on January 8th 2009. On January 9th Travel Ethos will be no more and will simply redirect to my blog on the subject: Mark Andrew Austin

I will operate this travel forum for as long as it takes to either find a) someone suitable to take it over (that will mean someone who pays the bills to host it don't forget), or failing that b) I will simply one day sell the domain travelforum.org (good domain names command high prices these days). I am in no rush to do this, so I am sure it will continue on. If any user wants to talk to me about taking the operation over, please feel free to get in contact.

Sad news in some respects but a weight off my shoulders as the web sites cost me time and money, plus I have to deal with the down sides (spam, hotels that do not pay, etc.), so actually I fell good in some respects about it, just sad for the children who benefit from these charities.

Anyway, it is time to go and spend some with my own children.

In his own words describing the termination of his Travelethos web site effective January 9, 2009, Austin wrote: “I have no wish to conduct business in Indonesia ever again.”

Quick Update

Time to check in and see what Austin has been up to lately. Well, it seems the answer is nothing!

I did get this e-mail from him last month after I informed him that his “old buddy” Made Pastika won the election for Bali’s new Governor:

“I was sure Pastika would get in and hence at some stage I am going to do a real job on him and his fellow Indonesian mutts, in multiple languages including Malaysian (Oh no, that will mean Indonesians will understand but still put me outside Indonesian jurisdiction). Take it that I can not be bothered by the fact I am doing nothing right now; I will do it when I get time and greater inclination.”

Well, there we are! Austin is going to do a “real job” on Made Pastika...and his “fellow Indonesian mutts!” Personally, I can’t wait to see what he has in mind!

His modest cottage in Portugal is still for sale, and the word is that he hasn’t a chance of ever running from Portugal to OZ. He’s already exhausted his “welcome” in more than half the world, so one can only wonder..."where’s to be the next Austin nest?” If you ask me, it seems pretty evident that Austin’s balls have been cut off...perhaps by one of his own swords! For certain, his options are diminishing day by day.

As for me, I will continue to maintain this blog until all of his web site based lies are taken down.

It would seem our mad hatter is quickly running out of room as to where to lay his head in this small world. Having already outstayed his welcome in Bali and Thailand, it now appears that the same has happened with his latest hide out...Portugal!

Looks Like The Sleeping Dog Woke Up!

Our mad hatter, Mark Andrew Austin, is indeed back at his old tricks with more innuendo, lies, and unbridled vitriol against Bali. Last month, one can find six new classic Austin rants of insanity on his Bali BS website: http://www.balibs.org/

Six new articles have been added by Mark to his web site since February 25. One of them even plagiarizes the title of my blog, The Mad Hatter, but that’s OK, since it proves he is reading this blog and at least he knows that the real “truth will out.”

To be honest, I haven’t read every word of his most recent insane fits, but there they are...the clear calls to “Boycott Bali” and “Boycott Indonesia.” Then, of course, no series of his lapses into the abyss of insanity would be complete without his typical attacks against the Balinese police, our friend Jack Daniels and the Bali based expatriate community.

I find it hysterical that he continues to deny that the Bali BS web site is his own creation. Mark, it is clear beyond words, (and because of the words) that it is YOUR doing. I’m not a shrink, but I suppose it’s “normal” for a psychotic nutter to forget exactly what they did while on a mind bender. Time for a new prescription Mark?

One classic error, typical of Austin, who hasn’t been able to set foot in Indonesia for many years, caught my eye. It’s this phrase from the article on expatriates living in Bali, which by the way, he erroneously titles, “Balinese Expatriates.” Mark, just so you know, Balinese expatriates are Balinese who aren’t living in Indonesia! Anyway, here is the line, which is of course, totally incorrect:

“...so the way the authorities got around this problem was to forbid Indonesian women who had married a foreigner to be able to own land after the marriage.”

Gee Mark, isn’t that EXACTLY what you did when you first purchased your little villa resort called Agung Bali Nirwana in Sambirenteng Beach? It was YOUR wife’s name on the Hak Milik...which I know for a fact, and not long ago, you sent her over here to sell it. But, oh yes, it is perfectly “normal” in your own warped mind to run on and on and on about other expatriates in Bali who may have done EXACTLY what you have done as being evil, vicious, and horrible.

Mark, do you honestly think ANYONE of sane mind buys into any of your nutter ways?

In any event Mark...knowing that you will read this...there is hope beyond those pills you take and your therapy sessions which are clearly not working. For example, you could once and for all “pull the plug” on those various web sites polluted by your dark mind. That would be a good first start, as I assure you that anyone reading this blog and comparing and contrasting it with your madness is not being fooled.

I cannot resist pointing out, that among all the personalities that Austin attacks on his various web sites and forums, I am most perplexed by his viral attacks against I Made Pastika. I don’t need to extol this man, I Made Pastika, as there is plenty of material on him, his life, and his contributions on the internet. It is very likely that he will be the next governor of Bali, and here in Bali, as in all of Indonesia, and Australia, as well as in the US and the EU, his reputation is stellar. He is loved and respected in Bali, deservedly so.

Austin is on record calling him, “a dirty low-life Indonesian dog.” That comes from his Nasty Bali Blog, specifically, here:

Austin denies that this blog is his. Rather, it is supposedly authored by one I Made Penemuan of Kuta / Legian Beach, and Nusa Dua. Yah, Mark, that Balinese guy, a) surely gets around, and b) writes in an undeniable style that can only be attributed to you.

This blog is so clearly authored by Austin that his denial of it becomes a joke.

This is the same blog that Austin calls my Balinese wife a whore, which I can assure ANY reader of this blog, that NO Balinese man would EVER call a Balinese woman a whore! If he did, her Balinese family would certainly make jewelry out of his nuts, but aside from that, and more to the point, it is just simply not the Balinese way. And, that is something that Austin doesn’t understand...the Balinese way, and it’s one aspect that makes it so easy to follow him around the internet.

Austin simply cannot cloak himself behind a myriad of ISP registrations, or web site URL’s. His own writing style is like a finger print. It is undeniably recognizable.

Austin is trying to do a lot of back-stepping right now. And he should. These articles only scratch the surface of how the Balinese police view Austin, and considering his “contributions” on the internet, they are surely not surprising to me:

Word to the wise...if you currently have ANYTHING to do with Austin, step back, do your homework, check with the police yourself in Bali, and for that matter, ask the British consul to Bali for his own “off the record” advice.

SEATA...SE Asia Travel Association

By any objective analysis of this war, Austin has been winning. Within the last three months, two excellent blogs about Bali have either been completely shut down, or greatly revised because of Austin’s modus operandi. Those two blogs are:

I know you to be a gutless nasty coward but was hoping you
could prove me wrong. The previous email was to open up
dialogue so you could do this. Being an open person,
unlike you, I feel the need not just to defend myself

realize doing that in your case would not just put your
job on the line, but also your liberty and quite probably
your life. So, if you are such a twitching little coward
that you can not stop your little pinkies from quaking and

Indonesia before I name and shame you; please, do not
thank me, I am a human being unlike some. After that I
will go to town in order to defend the lies you published

The Indcoup blog contained only one article relating to Austin, but as that blog used to allow for reply comments...there were some 28 replies from various people offering more pieces of information on Austin...and he wanted that information removed. Shaken and stirred by Austin, the blog owner decided it just wasn’t worth it. The owner, being an expat working in Jakarta simply took the path he felt was in his best interest. That is totally understandable in my view.

In the case of Bert’s blog, once again, only some portions of his blog was about Austin. Bert decided to try to “dance with the devil” and entered an agreement where Austin would remove all the lies and character assaults on Bert, and Bert would remove all portions of his blog referencing Austin. Bert did what he said he would do, and Austin just laughed in his face, which recalls the tale of the scorpion and the frog. As of now, all that remains on Bert’s blog about Austin is this:

You may have read “stories” about me, by the hand of Mark Austin, that I am supposed to be a Pedophile, and all kind of other lies. They appear on a few websites, some “anonymous”, some not. My “Pedophile story” appears next to other stuff he publishes about people, and also Bali, where he he just has one thing in mind, to destroy reputations, by spreading lies.
Mark Austin likes to present himself as someone who feels responsible and cares, but I can assure you there is little he does that is not in one or another way aimed to hurt someone, somewhere.
Whatever personality disorder drives Mark Austin to live the life he lives, I leave to the professionals, as well as the legal consequences they may have.

Like most people I know who have had anything to do with Mr MA's website(s), I am fed-up with hearing about him.

Thorsten (above), mentions things like 'compassion' and 'psychiatric help' for this guy. I think he's right - that guy is very, very sick...and unfortunately, seems to have some advanced computer skills (or maybe just those around him).

I'm not convinced, however, that major psychiatric intervention these days would be able to do much for him. In the older days, maybe. Endless shock-treatments, perhaps, maybe even a lobotomy.

He's lucky there are some people who feel sorry for his state of mind. He obviously thinks everybody else is crazy...a common symptom related to paranoid psychosis. (I am a trained psychologist but sure as hell wouldn't want him as one of my patients, outside of a maximum security ward). Pitying him is of no use - the tragedy is that's he's mentally sick and still on the loose.

I just wish he'd get the treatment(s) he needs/deserves and leaves the rest of us outside of his insane orbit.

As with Bert, I too have been battling with Mark Austin over the years, and also as with Bert, I would usually let it go and ignored his ranting. However, I put my foot down, and put it down hard when someone calls me a drug dealer in Ubud, and declares that one of my three kids is illegitimate...even suggesting that Froggy is the real dad! Somehow Froggy, who first arrived in Bali with his family in late November last year has successfully fathered a baby boy (with Eri), who turned four years old this past June 15!

I’m sure it really gets Bert angry being called a Nazi, when in fact, Bert’s ancestors were part of the Dutch underground during WWII.

Well beyond the personal aspects of this is the undeniable fact that Austin is out to discredit Bali, and all of Indonesia for that matter, and he tells lie after lie on his various web sites, forums and blogs. I can assure anyone reading this that Austin hasn’t a friend in all of Bali, or anywhere else in Indonesia for that matter.

One of Austin’s greatest deceptions is to post on his forums with made up names and also to post “news” items under fictitious names that in fact are all authored by himself. Just have a look at his Bali Broadcasting Service web page and one can see this clearly. Virtually EVERY article written there is written by himself while he deceitfully uses authors names like Phil Liu, Lori Dengler, Guy Fawkes, Judas Icariot, (no kidding), Robert Dolly Dunn, St Christopher 2nd, Todd Curtis...etc., etc. ad nausea!

It’s time, and in fact, it is long overdue that the folks who have suffered these lies, innuendo, accusations, and other libelous statements speak out in their own way on the internet and make the facts known that Austin is truly, The Mad Hatter of Bali.

Mark Austin 101:

Mark Austin is a Brit now living in Portugal. He used to host a Bali travel related website called the Bali & Lombok Travel Forum, which is now Travelforum.org. The new site is again, a travel forum with sections pertaining to both Bali & Thailand. He used to also run and I presume still runs accomodations booking sites for Bali & Thailand thru these sites.

I first became aware of him thru another Bali related travel forum where he would post troll threads attempting to direct users of this site to the one he owned. When this practice was called into question by both the administrators of the Bali site as well as by many of the regular users there, Mark Austin bared fangs, started spewing accusations, challenges, mistruths and generaly became a huge annoyance at this site to the point where the administrators were forced to ban him from postings. To be fair... the administrators at this site put up with Mark's crap for almost a year before banning him.

Mark has defamed, threatened and libeled not only competitors in Bali also booking travel accomodations, but ordinary users of his forum and the one he was banned from for simply calling into question his very questionable marketing practices, his playing "loose" with true known facts and for his vitriolic attacks on any and everyone that challenged him in any way. I have 30-40 emails from the guy personally circa 1998-90 threatening me when I pointed out several untruths he posted on his and various other web forums.

Austin has tried to sue, unsucccessfuly, the owner of Bali Discovery Tours, for no good reason. He has accused Bert of hacking his websites when Bert advised users to simply turn off the cookies on their web browsers. He has accused the owner of Bali Discovery of colluding with Bali Polisi asssasinate him. He has had very public spats with many of the users of several forum sites pertaining to Bali.

Mark also hosts a couple of very negative "information" websites pertaining to Bali (Bali BS, Fugly Bali, Nasty bali, Bali SOS) where he makes claims that Bert is a notorious pedophile, Roy is an Ubud drug kingpin, etc. He has been banned by the Indonesian Government from entering Bali and continues, for lack of better things to do I surmise, to spend inordinate amounts of time trashing Bali and several members of it's expat community.

Mark makes his primary living selling prescription drugs, mainly weight loss supplements on several internet sites. It would appear that he has dipped deeply into his own wares as his ravings display overt paranoia, delusions of granduer and severe, bi-polar like mood swings. He is a fool and a miscreant, driving away most users from his travel site with crude and mispelled bile to the point where his Bali Travel site receives an average of 2 postings a month.

In my mind, nothing documents more what a person is about than their actions, and short of that, their words. Having never met Austin, (lucky for him), I only have his words to go by, and they speak volumes. Here are some recent items taken from one of his e-mails to me since July 18 and two links to his blog:

“BTW, does your wife still have to go down to Seminyak and hustle for short time to pay the bills? I mean she is such an ugly toothless old sag now that I am surprised she gets anything but charity money! Still, anything must be better than having to take your "load".”

Two days following that e-mail Austin posted his most outrageous blog which resulted in all out war as far as I am concerned. In true Austin fashion, being the consummate coward that he is, he hides this blog behind the name of I Made Penemuan of Kuta, Legian and Nusa Dua.

There is a great deal to report since my last entry here on April 15. In fact, was has transpired in these past 8 months is quite amazing, and if it weren’t that Austin is behind all of that, it might also be described as unbelievable.

The War of the Blogs was one such event, but of more interest is the number of folks who have had nasty run ins with this nutter, the mad hatter of Bali himself.

I have tons and tons of material...stuff which will make you shake your head in utter disbelief. Over these past months, criminal complaints against Austin have been filed, private investigators hired, death threats from Austin made in writing, (to me and others), attorneys brought in, etc, etc. In short, it has been a rather interesting and frequently comical (thanks to Mark), past 8 months.

This entry is just to advise that if anyone who has a current and ongoing issue with Austin who is in need of specific details such as photographs of him, his address in Portugal, a copy of his passport, photos of his house, his phone number, his maid’s name, etc, etc. may write to me directly for this information to aid any investigation or litigation against him. I am happy to share any and all information I have (and it is vast) to anyone in legitimate need to prosecute any complaints against Mark Andrew Austin.

In addition, I will provide some of the e-mails received both by myself, and others from this nutter, as in my opinion, that is proof of what Austin is really about. So, stay tuned, as there is lots more to follow.

In all fairness, the following quotes are taken out of context, and they do not provide the reasons why Mark may have made these comments, but, with that said, these quotes, as stand alone excerpts from Mark, are very telling in that they provide an insight into the man who wrote these quotes. Each of these e-mail, in their entirety have been archived, and in fact, made available to the Balinese police charged to investigate Austin’s internet activities as they may, or may not relate to seditious behavior against The Republic of Indonesia.

E-mail to me from Austin dated November 12, 2004:

“I heard about your connections. I heard about when you went into a certain hotel in Ubud and lorded it around claiming you knew the Japanese owner, when there was no Japanese owner and you were talking to one of the actual owners without knowing it. The clear impression I and many other get about you is that you are mentally ill and very nasty, while feining being a hip, cool, Bali culture sort of a guy. I even hear you have been in trouble with ebay over fraud?”

Mark “hears” a lot, but unfortunately, the voices he listens to are hantu...ghosts that live in his own mind, and only in his own mind. I have no idea what conjured up in his imagination this Ubud hotel story, and as far as eBay is concerned, we have been member for over ten years in good standing, selling under the name: majabali.

From this same e-mail:

“I have made my decision about you. I have no doubt you and Bert can and have made trouble for me, that is the nature it seems of Indonesia and their police. But I wont let that stop me from seeing the whole thing through. You were warned, but you contuinued with Bert's dumb a help. So now I am going to do what any decent, community minded person should. This is not personal for me Roy, I just truly believe you need to be stopped, for the sake of the next guy. So unless I can see that you are going to be a good chap from now on, I will file those police complaints and I will have my lawyers see it through.”

A typical modus operandi from Mark is hollow threats. He reminds me of Balinese dogs. They may bark with some bit of ferociousness, but when confronted, they put their tails between their legs and run.

E-mail to me from Austin dated November 13, 2004:

“I know your Jakarta lawyers are already giving you advise to back off of me Freak”

Jakarta lawyers? I have no lawyers, be they in Jakarta or elsewhere.

E-mail to me from Austin dated November 14, 2004:

“I gave you your chance, you went over the line. Unless you do something to show me that you;
a) Will put right the wrong you have done. b) Shows me that you will not There will be police complaints against you Roy. Whether you think that or not. Or whether you think they will be effective or not, I really do not give a rat's ass.”

To this very day I have never been contacted by Polda or Intel (the two branches of the Balinese police) regarding any complaints Mark Austin may have made about me. I have been contacted however, to offer evidence, which in retrospect, I couldn’t provide quick enough.

E-mail to me dated November 15, 2004:

“Pure and simple, I may like Bali, but live there? You must be conkers - and that is nothing to do with the police "investigations". Portugal and the other countries I have homes in knock the living crap out of your nasty little hole. Sure, I would like to come to Bali and avoid trouble, but if I can't, oh well.”

I guess when your choices are limited, and Bali is no longer an option, it would be normal to refer to Bali as a “nasty little hole.”

E-mail to me from Austin dated November 29, 2004:

“Sorry, I don't read your crap anymore. If you are friends with police chief Made Pastika, he is a wanker and I am Lord Nelson's aunt.”

Funny that Mark references himself in drag. I’ve often thought that is where he belongs.

E-mail to me dated November 30, 2004

“I don't give a rat's ass you freak. If you commit defamation and for once have the balls to put your own name to it, I will just lengthen the free accommodation you need.
Being mentally ill is a criminal offence in Bali, did you know that Roy?
And you are as nutty as they come.”

Obviously, being mentally ill in Bali is not a criminal offense, but in Mark’s case, perhaps that is the most salient reason he fears ever coming back to Bali?

I refer the reader of this post to scroll back down and have a good look at the photograph of Mark Andrew Austin. I will ask again...do you see what I see?

No wonder he made every effort to hide his image on the internet.

More Lies and Innuendo from the Mad Hatter of Bali

Without spending a whole lot of valuable time on this endeavor...my Austin blog, and please understand that this is time I would rather enjoy spending with my family and enjoying my life in Bali, it would take me weeks upon weeks, after putting on my high top fly fishing boots, to wade through all the garbage Austin has spread on the internet regarding Bali.

But, in order to continue this process of seeking the truth, here are some more “gems” as written by him:

Bert’s friend that Mark alludes to is me. It is a total lie that Bert ever ran such a thread on his expat forum: http://www.bali-information.com/expat_forum/ or anywhere else for that matter. One has to wonder, if what Mark wrote was even close to truthful, why wouldn’t he provide a link or the URL to where such statements were made?

As human beings, we are all prone to occasional exaggeration, but Mark’s words are lies and completely contrived baloney. And just for the record, I never posted any “hate messages” or ever tried to spam Austin’s forum...rather, I just dared to disagree. That’s what happens to anyone who dares to disagree with Mark Austin.

As you might imagine, this one from Mark is my personal favorite as it directly relates to me:

“Moving from the highly dubious expatriate real estate business world in Bali to the group of expats you can only call "La las". One of the little muppets on Bert's Bali Expatriate Forum run by and a good friend of Vierstra (which speaks volumes) is also a perfect example of a typical expatriate cuckoo in Ubud Bali; American Roy "Majapahit" (yes, one Roy Thompson changed his last name to "Majapahit", the name of the last Balinese dynasty!). Roy claims to be a close friend of former police chief Made Pastika, a retired combat marine veteran and a senior member of the Golkar party! Roy actually is a well known beer drinking tuna eater (which apparently is his favorite food and not the only thing that smells in his house) who owns a dagger shop in Ubud which he sleeps over accompanied by his delusions and poor Balinese wife Ni Nyoman. Where should I begin?

1) I never changed my last name to Majapahit. It is still Thompson, so wherever Mark got this disillusioned information from...who can guess? Majapahit is my Balinese family’s business name. That’s it, pure and simple.

2) I never claimed to be a close personal friend of Made Pastika, nor have I ever met the man. So where is the documentation of that outrageous claim Mark?

3) I hardly ever drink beer. Personally I enjoy vodka martinis and I could care less if they are shaken, stirred, come with an olive or a twist. Frankly, that truth is pretty much common knowledge around Ubud.

4) Dagger shop? What is a dagger shop? If Mark means kris, sure, we have a rather nice collection of Balinese kris. But my family’s gallery doesn’t have any kris for sale. Rather, at the Mood Studio in Ubud, (do a Google or Yahoo search) we regularly exhibit contemporary Balinese art, the Bali period works of Maurice Sterne, (who was the first expatriate painter in Bali, 1912-1914), period engravings and maps relating to the Indonesian archipelago, and archeological context Chinese export ceramics in conjunction with the Indonesian Department of Archaeology. A dagger shop? Well, this is just one of many lies from Mark Austin that we will continue to present that demonstrates the disillusionment of this man who has taken on the impossible quest of bringing Bali down with him...and blaming everything and everybody for his own shortcomings and inadequacies.

5) My “poor” and disillusioned Balinese wife, Ni Nyoman? Well, that’s very funny, and anyone reading this blog, who know my wife will be rolling on the floor laughing. My wife, if ever within a close distance to Austin will likely render him singing high soprano for the rest of his life.

6) Me, hacking Mark’s forum?! Would that I could, I certainly would, but truth be told, I have no idea how to hack, spam, or otherwise manipulate any forum or web site. Again, among the expat community in Bali, my own shortcomings, lack of knowledge, or ability to use computers beyond what I need to know to assist in my family’s business is a well known fact.

A Good Question

So why, in my blog about Mark Andrew Austin, do I not allow for comments to be posted?

That’s a fair question. The answer is simply that Mark, in ALL of his web sites and forums, doesn’t allow for opposing view points either, and frankly, I don’t want him, either directly, or through one of his many “made up internet characters” coming here and disrupting this process of seeking the truth.

I am not in pursuit of the truth about him, as I could care less about him. Rather, I am in pursuit of the truth about my home, which is Bali. My home, Bali, is a place he knows little, if anything, about. I will not let his lies and falsehoods about my adopted home, and my Balinese family to stand without revealing the truth. Mark Austin is not a man to be trusted, and I cannot take the risk of him attacking this blog. His words...his lies...stand well enough “spoken” on his own sites.

So, yes, this blog is one sided. It has to be, as everything Mark Austin has spread across the internet is lie and innuendo, without any opportunity for rebuttal.

Some Points of Reality or Truth

In this post, let’s establish three points of reality concerning Mark Austin. Point number one is that his exposure...meaning time actually spent on Bali is very limited, and so is his knowledge of Bali or the Balinese people. Point two is that Mark has virtually no support from anyone in his disillusioned Don Quixoteish tirades against the Indonesian and Balinese people. Point number three is that no one with even a partial understanding or knowledge of Bali considers any of his innumerable outlandish statements to have any credibility.

For me personally, and as an American expat living in Bali for eight years, how is it that Mark’s fantastic stories of corruption, lies, human rights abuse, etc. has only happened to this poor victim, Mr. Mark Andrew Austin? Being a social person, I know quite a number of other expats, some of whom have lived here for thirty years, like Victor Mason. Not one expat I know has ever spun a yarn like our mad hatter, Mark Austin, nor do any of them accept anything he says or writes with any level of seriousness.

How is it that Mark seems to be qualified to run forums and web sites relating to Bali in the first place? His first visit here was in 1998 and he never actually lived in Bali, but rather took his Balinese wife with him to live in Thailand. His last visit to Bali was in 2002, when he was detained by the police for his seditious writings, and he has never been back to Bali since that time. All of this information is from Mark himself, written by himself, and easily found in his various web sites and forums.

If one bothers to wade through all the seemingly endless material Mark has written about Bali, it becomes clear that his hatred and anger all stem from what was in fact a business disagreement with Jack Daniels of Bali Discovery Tours. How this all escalated to WWIII is a story only Jack can tell. However, I do know this to be true. Jack has a superb reputation in Bali, and everyone that I ever mention his name to have only the highest accolades and kind comments about this him. On the other hand, mention Mark Austin’s name to anyone here in Bali, and the response is akin to passing gas in a crowded elevator.

An undeniable fact is that Mark has virtually no support from anyone (in Bali) who is even remotely familiar with him. Moreover, on his forums he regularly creates fictitious names of “other” posters and carries on conversations with this made up persona and himself! It is all quite amusing, but at the same time rather discomforting.

If you summed up all of Mark’s time actually spent in Bali between 1998 and 2002, the days spent here would add up to less than a year...BUT, he declares himself as expert and uniquely qualified to run forums and web sites relating to Bali! If anyone dares to disagree with him, especially on his public forums, they are declared as spamers, hackers and other various names and immediately banned from his forum.

Writing on his own nasty-bali-org web site, Mark states,

“Although what I publish here means I can not easily (safely) go back to Bali, I really do not want to all the time it is part of the hate state of Indonesia. I would rather do my bit here to try and help, yes help the Balinese rid themselves of the cancer that afflicts them; even if that means I give up my "right" to go and see Bali, my friends and family there. I owe a lot to the Balinese after all, it was because of Bali I got into the internet business generally from which I have done so well. If it were not for Bali, I would not have the wonderful family or the very high standard of living we now do.”

Mark seems to be such a perfect selfless martyr! But get this line.... “after all, it was because of Bali I got into the internet business generally from which I have done so well.” Take a guess what that “internet business” is? Drug sales! That’s right, Mark has a number of web sites selling pharmaceuticals. How on earth he got that idea in Bali is anyone’s guess! However, one can exercise more than speculation about the motives for his operating forums relating to Bali, Lombok and Thailand as an excellent source of e-mail addresses. Mark requires a valid e-mail address for registering on his forums. That can be taken as a very legitimate reason for weeding out potential trouble makers, but it also provides the administration of that forum with a nice tidy list of e-mail addressed to spam with on-line drug selling sites.

Mark’s various anti-Bali, anti-Indonesian web sites are full of lies. It is not odd that he can never support such outlandish false statements with documented evidence, as quite simply, there isn’t any excepting of course for that “truth” that exists only in his mind.

“In Bali, girls who date foreigners are often branded “whores”; not surprising for an island where many young men stone girls while shouting “lesbian” at them simply because they are trying to protect their virtue. When I witnessed such things first hand I started realizing Bali was not the paradise for all I had once thought it was.”

Young men stoning girls! Trust me, nobody in Bali, be they Balinese, other Indonesian, or foreign expat has EVER witnessed such an event and Mark’s own comment, “I witnessed such things first hand” is a complete and disgusting fabrication!

What angers me the most about Austin, and provides the best reasoning why I am taking the time on this blog to set the record straight, is that such horrendous statements about the Balinese exist in any venue without challenge.

So, where do I come in on this whole fray conducted by the mad hatter? That’s simple to explain. It first started with e-mail exchanges, the last of which from Mark Austin to me is as follows:

“How's it going? Jeez, I bet kris sales are down! I just saw my spam filter data and you have sent me 13 emails since I put you in the ignore list; God you must be livid. I have removed it so you can reply and I will see that now.

Listen, I've a got a new site about to launch - you'll "love it". It is 100% under my name etc. and wait for this, it includes a challenge to the legitimacy of the Republic of Indonesia and plenty more (the authorities will not be happy). Now a cuckoo like you who adopted the name of the last dynasty of Bali should appreciate that, given the Majaphit's disdain for the Javanese. Anyway, look, I will give you the lead scoop on it (domain details and guarantee you will be the very first person to be notified once the site is running), so you can boast about it and file a criminal complaint or whatever over it if you want to, in return for one small thing.

A while back you intimated you knew I was on Interpol's watch list courtesy of the Balinese police. Where did you get that information from? You said before you were a friend of Made Pastika's but I reckon you got it from Bert who got it from Daniels. I am just curious. As you may know my name has been removed from Interpol's automated watch facility after a complaint from my London lawyers under the European data act, plus there is now an active Interpol investigation into why my name was placed there in the first place under their anti-corruption mandate; you see I have documented proof from my Jakarta lawyers that the only official investigation (which is totally unlawful in itself) is for alleged criminal libel against Daniels, and that is not due cause for having my name added to Interpol's watch list (this is reserved for insurgents, etc.). I would really like to know how you found out though and will give you the scoop on my new site against Indonesia if you tell me.

Shame about my case against Daniels in the USA, but guess what? I actually got most of my money back (the cost of appeals) after a bit of a struggle with my lawyer; you see the appeal floundered because his paralegal filed the court papers 2 days late and despite my lawyers' attempts to get them accepted, the case was consequently declined; just shows Americans are as thick as two short planks huh? A real shame but I think it cost Daniels plenty more than me at the end as his request for costs was denied (so he had to pay them all himself, oh dear). I have also dropped my idea of suing Daniels in England as I am sure he would as a defendant and likely concocted counter-plaintive use a nasty aspect of English law and force me to place a substantial court bond for months or even years when there could be no guarantee I could collect against him once I won. Anyway, it is not the end of the line yet by any means, you se Indonesia acceded to an important human rights convention this year and although they did not adopt the first protocol which would allow me to file with the UN appointed body (I have to file with Jakarta), the mechanism is there for me to make sure they rule in my favour as the Interpol thing is their Achilles heal. Part of a successful UN human rights case is called "remedy" which means the authorities will have to go for someone or some people; I bet Jack takes the main fall, what do you think? So I am still getting there, getting closer to putting Jack in jail; fancy being his bed buddy?

Gee Mark,

It sounds to me like you are sweating a little bit. Moreover, you could use a little lesson in Indonesian history! The Majapahit were Javanese.

Such a deal for me. I give you information regarding my contacts at Intel, Polda, Immigration, etc. (and what I may know they have in mind for you), and I get the first scoop on your worthless new web site! No thanks, as I could care less about what ever new pollution you care to bring to the internet.

You can buy all the land around my neck of the woods you care to buy. The real fact is, you are no longer able to come to Bali, or enter at any port of Indonesia, for that matter. Your web sites are seditious and full of lies. There is a price to pay for being an angry screaming boy of manhood age who hasn’t learned what libel and defamation is all about. Ask your attorneys with whom you hemorrhage endless money.

Do me a favor, and don’t pollute my inbox anymore with your craziness. Enjoy your house in Portugal. As for Bali, you still hold the top position on the “persona non gratia” list. Just so you know, I had absolutely nothing to do with that. You did that on your own. What can you expect after carrying on accusing Made Pastika and other notable Indonesian government officials, as you have, on various web sites, including your Bali forums?

Take a little free advice and step back and have a good long look in the mirror asking yourself, “what can I possibly gain from all of this?” You should also ask yourself, “is the time and expense really worth the best possible outcome?” Isn’t there already a little voice inside your head asking these questions?

I honestly have not seen any photos of your home in Portugal. If it is wonderful, and all you could ever want, then enjoy it and put all this negative energy into positive endeavors.

You mention karma in your last e-mail, but you clearly fail to understand what kharma means. While you currently have wealth and business success, you come across as miserable, angry, and very close to being out of control. I’d like to think that you are far too intelligent a man to let your vendettas control your life...but that’s the way it seems to me.

Mark, I have no personal grudges with you, so my words have no ulterior motives. Whatever your spam filter are telling you about 13 attempts to write you, I can assure you that is baloney, as I have NO interest in contacting you and haven’t such interest in a long time. You flatter yourself too much!

I’d prefer that this is our last contact, and welcome you putting my e-mail address back on your “block” list. I have neither the time, nor inclination to spend time with you. Personally, I’d rather attempt communication with a stone wall or the monkeys.”

Well, I guess that would have been fine...resolution enough for me, except that Mark has recently made another untruthful comment about me on another one of his many web sites, and within those comments, he included my Balinese wife by name. I draw the line at that point.

I guess Mark is completely unaware that the current Chief of Police in Bali, Pak Purwoko, (who replaced Made Pasitka) made a recent announcement of a full investigation of web sites that discredit Bali and some of its named citizens with lies and innuendo. Of considerable interest to the police are Austin’s seditious comments, which his sites are full of...attacking the sovereign rights of Indonesia to the point of encouraging revolution and independence of some of Indonesia’s provinces, Bali specifically.

Why it is that anyone would ever shoot themselves in the foot, totally alienating them from Bali, especially when Bali is home to one’s wife and kids is totally beyond me, but while his unfounded, inaccurate, malicious and libelous attacks continue, I will no longer be silent.

Somewhere in between 2001 and 2004 a sort of transition of this man occurred, or is it just maybe that his natural side simply couldn’t hide anymore? Who knows? I’m no psychiatrist, but anyone who bothers to wade through the endless amount of material...material that would fill hundreds of printed tomes...well, they don’t need to be a medical expert to see the emergence of a very unstable person.
